Voltminder

Found this on the web while looking for an alarm for our house batteries. The idea is that when the house batteries read a certain voltage (we set it at 12.00 volts) it is supposed to sound an alarm alerting us that we need to turn the gennys on to recharge. It is called Voltminder. We wired it up today and will be boondocking this weekend so will give a report. If you decide to get one, let the guy (a one man shop) know that we posted this info; we're always trying to help another get ahead if the product is worthwhile.

Cool Beans! Nice little monitor....and nice job installing it.

Oh, try Kansas Wind and Power for your electrical/battery needs. Great small Mom and Pop operation. He listed and sold an Inverter I had for me, no charge.

How much current does the Volt minder draw? This webpage doesn't say either... http://www.batteryspace.com/12vdcvoltminder71730.aspx Looks just like the one you have.

noneck,

Don't really know how much current it draws; the wires are pretty small although they had a 2 amp fuse in the cigarette connector which we discarded in favor of hard wiring (with fuse) to the converter. Looking at the electronics it looks to be a small draw, sort of like the propane detector.
