Slides inch in
I've searched and searched until I can't see straight. If this topic is out there please point me in the right direction. We have a 2017 Montana 3721RL which we love. Lately ever time we try to bring the hydraulic slides in they literally inch in. Process is push button on in command board slides come in an inch or two and stop. Release button, push again slide moves in an inch or two. Repeat process until slides are completely in. We have checked hydraulic fluid, level is fine, temps are in the 70s. Plugged into power but we have two new batteries and have upgraded breaker. What are we missing!

you most likely still have the 50amp resettable breaker. The fix is to replace it with an 80 amp breaker.

I had the exact same problem with my 2017 Alpine. Make sure your battery is fully charged. Replace your breaker with an 80 amp. I purchased the auto reset one on Amazon. I replaced the solenoid with a very heavy duty one as well.If all fails, call the 800... number for ASA the maker for the IN COMMAND. they replaced mine free of charge and paid to have it replaced with the second generation which is now hard wired instead of bluetooth connection, however i got the dealer to let me install it myself as i didn't want my RV there for months. Took me about half hour to transfer from one box to the other. . Has worked flawlessly since then. I also added a manual switch to bypass the In COMMAND should it fail again.

If it's cold where you are that and the low amp breaker are the problems. An 80 amp breaker will solve the problem, but once it warms up and the hydraulic fluid thins out it will quit doing it also.

E Rod, hubby is interested in how youadded manual switch to bypass In Command. That is exactly what he wants to do. Do you have photos?
Trying to understand why 80 amp fuse makes a difference. I guess I'm questioning why it doesn't do this when letting them out. Our old Montanacwould do something similar but you had to release button switch wait a few minutes for it to reset and then press again.

The difference is that Keystone installed an underrated breaker on these systems against the manufacturers recommendation. The 80 amp is sufficient for the load. Yes, it does fail more sliding in opposed to outward.

I found the schematic on the Lippert web site. There is a forum discussing the same issue and i attached the photos there. I will try and find it and post it here for you.
Found'em. 🙂

Call Lippert. They're great. Get you on the right track to figuring this out.

What do you hear during process? Can you hear the pump stopping? or do you know? If it is - breaker is probable cause as others mention. I added a battery meter with a dpds switch that lets me see the input and output of the batteries with one meter. put it next to the command panel on the inside (got the details for this forum) very helpful for me. While putting the slides in you can watch the amp draw and it kicks out when it hits 50+ (before new breaker) it also varies significantly on in and out and if connected or not. If it isn't the amp draw or pump kicking out then look elsewhere.

Going out you have the full area of the cylinder piston. Coming in you have the piston area minus the cylinder rod. More effort to pull slide in because of less piston area

Thank you all for your suggestions. Hubby has been speaking with the makers of In-Command. They are going to replace the system. Just have to iron out details with them and the ones who will do the work.
