Ozz, I noticed the cop in the picture had a "Sparta" policemans hat on and the cop sure looks like Carrol Oconner- Is there any significance to this? Just wondering? Don

The sad thing here is, you can be given a ticket for any thing at any time. Evidence? Be serious who is the judge going to believe you or the policeman? Thank goodness almost all policemen are good honest people. You do run into few exceptions.

I am waiting for the Chief to get back to me, probably will be Monday.
Here is his response to my letter:
Hello Jim,
Sorry about your experience! I will have this looked into and get back with you in a couple of days. I can tell you that this is definitely not the norm and there is no reason to be afraid to come to Goodyear. We are a professional agency and have great relationships with our residents and visitors and I constantly receive praises from our winter visitors about interactions with the Police Department.
Again, sorry and I will have a response for you in a few days.
Thank you
Jerry Geier

Ozz, hope all goes well. I have to look up Goodyear to see if we will be going anywhere near there on our trip home. How long will you be in Arizona?

Ron, we need to be home by April, so our schedule is in limbo right now, Sue and I were talking yesterday about leaving here soon (Tonopah Arizona) and taking a long time to get back to Missouri. Since I started using my Inverter and brought the small Honda, we want to try some boondocking. We did a few 2 day stays 'Off grid' coming out, worked super.
Are you done with the new factory job in Texas? now?

Ozz, is your truck a DRW F350?
The way i read the law, is that vehicles with 12K lb.. GVWR or better will be issued one plate, and it will be displayed on the front.
Max GVWR on an '08 F250 is 11K, for which two tags should be issued.
LICENSE (REGISTRATION) PLATES - Missouri law requires that license
plates be securely fastened to a vehicle, and that all parts of the plates are
visible and clean for view or inspection by any law enforcement entity. If
you have frames around your license plates, the Missouri State Highway
Patrol reminds you that the frames must not cover any part of the plates.
If you receive two plates, you must place one on the front and one on the
back of your vehicle.
If you have a trailer or a motorcycle, you will only receive one plate, which
must be on the back of your vehicle.
If you have a truck licensed in excess of 12,000 pounds, you will only
receive one plate, which must be placed on the front of the truck. If you
want a second plate, it must be specifically requested. You must place the
original plate on the front of your truck and if a second plate is issued, it
must be placed on the rear of the truck.

Just a thought here, even if he did have a dually it would scare the heck out of me if it weighed over 12,000 lbs.........

yes but...... GVWR on dually is 12k+
I think it's based on the fact, that the ass-end of a 12K+ GVWR truck will be corrupted, abused, modified, etc. for hauling and toting and will often have trailer in tow....

The GVWR on our 08 F-350 Dually is 13K.The truck ready to tow weighs 9K. Put the pin weight on a 3400 on it and it would still be under 12k GVWR.
