Verizon has been hacked
A friend got a call from Verizon this morning and was told that someone had ordered an Iphone and they thought her account had been compromised. They then sent and text to her phone that came from Verizon and asked her for the random number on the text. She gave them no other info and they began to order devises from her account. The Verizon folks were aware of the scam and said that it is originating in their own software and they are working to stop it. It only works if you give them the random number sent to you by Verizon on the text.
