I don't have a good answer but it seems once an RV has had mice even if you get rid of them it seems to attract more mice. I would at least try to find out where their access point is. Remember a lot of wires also go from walls into the ceiling which would make me believe that you could have mice all over your RV. I would probably look into a professional exterminator.

Mice truly are nasty vermin.

You can't get rid of mice. There are too many places for them to get in a camper. You can put out poison or you can shoot them. Poison is probably a better option it's easier on your camper. I've tried the noise makers they don't work. I put a noise makes on top of my silver ware, guess what they did in my silver ware. You can't stop up all the holes. I tried moth ball, don't work.

I set sticky traps, regular traps and got six after the last time we had them and before I sealed every stop I could find. Set my traps under the stairs and in the pass through. John

You can always put a cat up there and see if it can catch the little buggers! :>)
Seriously, I use Fresh Cab and IF you can pick some up and take down a few of ceiling fixtures across the unit and then stuff a bag of Fresh Cab the space between the ceiling and the roof, you should drive them out. Then set either snap traps or sticky traps around where they may come and the problem is solved. We have had only one in the unit and that was in out old unit and at the Central Plains Rally. Mrs. CountryGuy let me know about it by asking "Who's camper is that?" It was ours and it was running back and forth in one of the windows. We set a snap trap with peanut butter on it that night and had the little sucker that next morning! Since then have had none in either camper since I've been using the Fresh Cab. Great Stuff!

Oh by the way, Fresh Cab does not kill the mice. It's not a poison. It is a blend of herbs and the mice do not like the smell of it and they get out of the area because of it. I use it in the basement compartments and also put it under the sinks and areas that have holes coming up through the floor.

Use traps but DO NOT poison! When it dies where will it be when it starts smelling very bad?

I do know what happens if one dies in the ceiling it is not a pleasant experience .Did not happen to us but to another MOC'er. We plugged every hole we could find in both the 06 3400 and this 13 3402 and there were plenty. We had one mice in the 06 3400 and none so far in this 13 3402.When at the S&B we do live in sort of a rural area and there are many cats in the neighborhood.

Peppermint oil and water: The shop where I get my work done offers a de-mousing service and prevention treatment. They use a spray made up of peppermint oil and water, a 50/50 mix, which is much stronger then what I've read on various websites, but its what they use. If you have mice already they start by spraying the inside of the camper, a squirt in every cabinet shelf, a squirt in every nook and cranny. I would think for mice in the ceiling you would look for a way to get a bit in the ceiling, perhaps remove some trim or something. They told me they wait a week for the mice to leave and then they spray all the areas under the camper where a mouse might gain access to it. They said their recommendation is two treatments a year, spring and fall, to prevent further mice issues. They did note that the second yearly treatment was only on the outside. They say they guarantee their treatment to rid a camper of mice. They charge $10 a foot for the service but they are quick to tell you that you can do it yourself, just don't skimp on buying real peppermint oil. Yes, they said there would be a peppermint odor for awhile. I haven't experienced mice with our current camper, though we have had mice in all our other campers and like the rest of you I hate the little visitors. I've used traps and when desperate even poison..talk about a stink! I'm going to buy some peppermint oil and give it a try as a prevention on this camper and see if it works.

Used one of those Electric traps. Four AA batteries with an on/off switch and a capacitor, A little peanut butter at the front with the small holes. Leave it there with out turning it on for a day or so as they go inside and find out it isn't a threat. Then turn it on and and you will catch the little buggers. The traps are about $25 at Ace Hardware.

Also had good results getting them before they got into the trailer using a water bucket, plastic plate and a metal rod. RV.Net forum has the instructions. Search "worlds best mouse trap". Can also second the Peppermint method.

For the first time in about 20 years of owning campers, we had mice last year. They made me realize how lax I had gotten about prevention. Man, they chewed through our spice bottles and k-cups, and basically left their calling cards all over the camper. They chewed up some towels in the bathroom, chairs in the basement, they were pretty much everywhere. Last winter (2014-15), we had tons of snow and maybe that's what moved them into the camper, I don't know. What I do know is last fall I put moth balls and dryer sheets all over the camper and basement, along with some of those glue traps. Some say those prevention's don't work, but we had 0 mice this year. Maybe it was our mild winter, maybe it was the steps we took to keep them out, or a combination of both. But, unfortunately, this probably doesn't help the OP. He has an existing problem, my solution is pro-active. Traps and the Fresh Cab idea seem like a good way to go. Good luck.

We have purchase two electronic mice insect units. No mice, spiders, no spider webs, stink bugs since installed. Several good brands. Note RV must be plugged in to operate. We are very pleased with how well they work. Don't bother pets either.

Are the mice getting in while in storage? Or while at campsites? After reading this I have crazy visions of mice traveling from camper to camper in a campground. LOL

We trapped 2 in 2 days, then put in some Cab Fresh and have not had any more visitors. It is made with Balsam oil. It's a very pleasant smell to me-----not to mice. Purchased mine at Menard's but also saw it today at my local John Deere dealer. ( My apologies to my red loving friends).
