SA Campgrounds
I have never stayed at Travelers World but we have driven by it. As I stated in post #3 in this thread - we always stay at the KOA. The KOA is gated 24-7. I do not remember a gate at Travelers...I think we just drove in and took a look.
Both campgrounds are in an older area of town. Sketchy? I suppose maybe it might be in some ways, but we have never experienced anything to worry about. I like looking at the old homes and buildings. We shop at the nearby HEB Grocery Store without worry. We catch the bus and ride down to the river walk. We have eaten at the area restaurants no problem.

We had no concerns at Travelers World. But, yes, it is an older part of town. It is on a main road with regular traffic. And we had no reason to venture off that main road into side streets. Walmart a little way south. Downtown two miles or so to the north. Reviews regularly state that it is not a better part of town, but I don't remember anyone ever say they were concerned for their safety there.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, do not take E Southcross Blvd from I-37 due to a severe up/down rail crossing.

Thanks Bill/Patricia. I screen printed the directions given so we don't go the wrong way.

you are correct. Area could be little sketchy but not bad however the park is safe.Well at least when we stayed there a couple years back and are going back there again this July for a week. Place is well lit and if I'm not mistaken I think, not sure but I think they have a security patrol. I looked at other RV parks in the area and I was not impressed. Travelers is not far from downtown San Antonio and is close to Walmart and restaurants .
