Ford ESP Extended Warranty Plan

FYI, for anyone who may be interested or in the same situation I was....
I was keeping track of the milage (35737) but wasn't on top of the date of my original Ford F350 3yr-36K warranty. I inadvertantly missed the expiration date about 45 days ago.
Since the TV is pulling our "Home" I started checking Ford dealers for aftermarket extended warranty plans. Most all were in the $2800 to $3200 plus tax area with a $100 deductible.

One dealer suggested I go to www.ford-esp.com to compare coverages of Ford' ESP and the aftermarket plans being offered.

While there, the prompt calls for VIN and milage, and since out of 36 month period, directs you to call Ford ESP for further info.

I called and after a brief discussion Ford ESP approved a new 3yr 39K (total 75K) Plan.
The cost was $600 less than the least expensive plan offered by the dealers, had no state tax added, was handled over the internet, allowed for 18 month 0% rate finance if so desired, and was for their Plus 500 Premium Care Plan which as near as I can determine covers almost everything the original warranty covered (with a $100 deductible)
This plan also includes towing, car rental, trip interruption reimbursement, and is good at all Ford/Lincoln dealers in the US and Canada.

Thought I'd share this in the event anyone was interested or in a similar warranty situation as me.

I have 45000 miles on mine...and only 13 months left in the 5 year warranty.......I wont run out of miles but will run out of time.....I have checked on the esp plans from Ford,,,which is the only one I will buy...I will wait for another few months before I buy it..they will not credit me any amount to start early and forgo claims on the existing warranty.....I have recieved very good prices from some of the US suppliers...in Canada they wont deal.....It was also suggested that If I were to buy via the internet from a US supplier... that the Canadian dealers may refuse to honour it and I would have to pay up front and send the bill in.......I dont like that idea...

I know what you mean. I bought 4 name brand tires in Canada while making my tour last summer. I found out that because I bought them in Canada that US dealers for the same tire company would not honor any tire warranty. It is not an issue now because I traded the truck I put them on. So much for the North American free trade agreement.

I have not pulled the trigger on the EW either. I keep looking at it. I see most have looked at 75,000 miles. I was looking at 100,000 miles. The 100,000 miles was still over 7 years I think. In full timing, we drove 15,000+ this year. At that rate, in 7 years I would cover 105,000. Hmmmmm.....

Powells is correct if you buy the ESP on engine before you reach 100,000 they will give you total 200,000 mile plan 100.00 deductible for around $1,470.00, that is what I paid. Covers all major engine parts which is what normally is the problems with our trucks most of the time.Best part it's a Ford plan not some off brand insurance policy for warranty.
