We have just ordered our 2014 3625 Big Sky, getting delivery in October.
We are moving up from our 2010 2955 Montana.I'm now wondering about the dirt and bug's on our paint. I would like to hear from other Big Sky owners and how often they find themselves washing there rig on a long road trip.

Hi Packwood, I just use Simple Green cleaner with a standard RV brush, it is environmentally safe, smells good and is a heck of a cleaner. Some of the stubborn stains I soak and scrub with the mesh deal I clean my windshield with. It has a wood handle..

We have decided to finally adopt the cleaning products of Croftgate when we take delivery of our new Big Sky. We saw a demo of the products a couple of years ago at a Mid-Atlantic rally and were impressed. I thought I read about them going to the Goshen rally as well. Worth a look-see anyway. As far as bugs go, both my old unpainted 2955 and my newer painted 3700, collect them and I try to wash them off after a move. Not much difference there. But the painted rig does show the dirt much more than an unpainted one. The black areas are the worst. Driving in rainy conditions guarantee a wash job is needed to make it look nice. Even sitting in one spot for a week or so will accumulate enough dirt/dust on the rear window ledge and sides to justify some cleaning. I use a California Duster (they make a floor model)

to do quick cleanups. It works very well

The white gelcoat hides the dirt much better than the painted models. But the painted models do look good when clean!

I've been using Diamondite Bug Eraser. It's waterless and does a good job. I gave it a real work out after our Spring trip out West. Disclaimer; I didn't use it on a Big Sky Just a regular ole Monty

Another vote for Simple Green. Full strength is for heavy duty grease, like in an old boat bilge. 10 to 1 works good for bugs.

Wipe the bugs with dryer sheets and they will come off easily.

Like Hook said, dryer sheets like Bounce work great, especially with love bugs. An added helper is to soak them with Totally Awesome instead of water first. You have to rinse well with bounce sheets byt it is worth the water..

Great suggestions for cleaning up our new rig I will try all of them and see what works the best... Can't wait to give its first wash.. Thanks for all help.....

If you wax your rig, some of the remedies noted above will take the wax off, along with the bugs.

To wash...whatever is on sale at WalMart as a car wash. Do NOT use dish wash detergent, it will take off your wax. For wax/polish, I use Nu Finish...been using it on my other vehicles for years. Recently I order some Rejex, it's supposed to make the bugs come off the front easier. Last week end I put a coat on the front...I'll see how it works.

After you get it clean; I would reccomend using some Rain X on the finish. It helps to keep the crud from sticking and helps release what does stick. It is also great for your windows inside and out to keep them cleaner.
