I have used a stainless grab bar on my last 2 units. They come in different lengths and look nice. Like a bathroom handicap bar.

a whole lot more work involved. but custom made railings with mounts.
most likley involving pilling a wall apart to add in hidden support as needed.
yes to a more work. but after it would be very safe to grab and know it will not pull off the wall, even with a 200+ pound guy hanging off it.

2018 Crusader 319RKT Grab Handle and Motion Light

Here are the inside pictures of the Lowe's grab handle and battery-operated motion light installed on our 5th wheel. The motion light base is attached with two large command strips so that it can be removed and replaced as needed [in case it goes bad, can be replaced without messing up the wall]. The grab handle is installed using #12 self-tapping 1 inch screws into the metal frame. My mom has pulled on it intensely going up and down the stairs and its held beautifully. I have emailed Prime Time these ideas for future units (I think I spent a total of $70 for both); but one of our managers at work had an accident 2 weeks ago with her fifth wheel at the stairs, so I have forwarded her the pictures of what I created with ours to assist her. She went to step over the dog bed and instead of catching the first step she missed and face planted into the granite counter top and now has a broken nose, fractured jaw, both eyes are bruised and facial fractures at her eyes, chipped teeth. Knocked her out cold. She looks terrible. Her fifth wheel does not have a grab handle nor a motion light. I feel really bad for her. I hope these ideas assist everyone out there looking for a hallway grab handle.

Very nice! It is awesome to have the structure in that wall that supports a grab bar. Good job!

I used a Whitecap teak three loop boat handrail bought through Amazonhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DH3Z04S . I mounted it on a piece of 1/2" oak then installed it on the wall tith hollowcore door fasteners as well as the aluminum studs.

My wife liked it so well that I'm making another this weekend for a 3 step landing at the S&B.

Unfortunate that my DW was the HR manager at a company (Bobrick) that makes grab bars but retired a few short years back. A SS version could have been had at a beautiful (100%) discount had she not ulled that plug.

i went with the 4 ft version of this

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G61IPGC...1-87cf5b4d0ae5

and used a piece of 3/4" x 6" red oak to mount it to.

there were 3 mounts for the handrail, but they would not line up with the studs and provide the strength i wanted...

(the OCD dictated the middle mount had to be in the center and the end mounts had to be very close to the ends..)

i mounted it on the interior wall, it is very sturdy and provides support no matter where you are at the stairs.
