Modification of the dampers on my new outlets
Poor Sue, every time she looks around, I have cut up her plastic cutting board, cut up the place-mat, or something we use here.
This time it was the place-mat
Made the prototype for my much-improved damper sealer-dealie..

Ozz, nice work on the mat! I heard you did not like that color anyway. Will that design give you a better air flow to certain vents?

Ozz if you had Sinbad glue it would hold it and never let go! I got it at the Good Sam Rally in Georgia three years ago and I need to order more! If you want the address or phone number PM or email me! It is outstanding and even comes with an accelerator if you need it to stick even faster!

Ozz, what if you made them progressively taller as you got further from A/Cs ? If I am understanding correctly, they should deflect air through vent?

No the system is like blowing air into a plastic bag, then poking holes in the bag, air will be pretty much equal blowing out of each hole. It is entirely different than a residential or commercial ducting system. They just use a small duct run and poke holes in it all along it's length. Not a good system at all, but it is what it is.
Sinbad...is it like my Gorilla glue? I think that type is a Polymer? I don't like the way it 'foams up'

I do not have dampers on my vents.. Would it help the air flow on my unit if I installed ones with the dampers? My duct work is only 2 inches deep..
Thanks..

See my post on the damper mod., what would help is trimming the collars, or the part that is inserted into the ducting, it is about 1 or 2" too long. I put dampers on so I can cut off the airflow to the living area and have full airflow to the bedroom for night operation. But I had to add 4 dampers up there.
I will add a thermostat in the bedroom for control of the living room unit when using it at night.
