5th Airborne Air pressure

What air pressure is normal for a 5th Airorne when on the truck. I just finished my install and hooked to the truck and lifted the legs. When I put the air in it took 50psi to raise it to the mark.

I get a better ride if I raise mine to about a quarter inch above the line and it is about 90 psi--

Raising it to the line is the manufacturers recommendation, however, some experimentation may give you the optimum for your trailer and truck.

There is a maximum pressure, but I can't remember what it is so I don't want to guess - however I think its over 100. If you exceed that pressure to get to the mark, you need to move the air bag bracket to a different position. Sounds like yours is perfect!

Mine is about 50-55 when at the mark.

I installed mine about a month ago. Made a big difference. I agree w/ gpats, about 1/4 inch above the line.
Drive a bit and find a level spot, then recheck as I found it changed a bit. Once unhooked take a air pressure reading and now you know where to have it. Actual air pressure is going to depend on your pin weight.

The air pressure will be different for everybody, unless you have the exact same pin weight and are running the pin box in the same hole. It should be moved forward for less PW and back for more PW.

Max pressure is 120 psi.

Mine was at 72 lbs last year I just tried a little above the line and it seemed better,I would start at the line and go from there.

I had my 5th airborne pin installed by the dealer, and when I asked about the pressures, the dealer rep told me that there was NO maintenance needed, and that the factory setting was satisfactory. Should I check the pressure and from the other posts here I would have to guess to what pressure to set the bag. I don't really think that I need to change anything, as the rig rides as good as I had expected. I have no other experience with this pin box, but with other SOB 5er and standard pin and it nearly beat us to pieces on rough roads and bridge expansion spacers.

Your dealer is as ignorant as my dealer. Read the paperwork...as noted in an earlier post, pressure depends on pin weight and in which hole the pin box is placed.
