Dream on Old Fogies, Dream On. The only direct hit froma previous Mid-Atlantic rally was when I had to dive in front of the balloon!! Ya'll couldn't hit the side of a Mayberry barn, from the inside!!!

I will have to admit that if you rig up a fire hose, and release the nozzle, then you should have a pretty good chance of hitting the side of the Mayberry barn from the inside since the hose will be flopping around and increasing your odds. I do not have the same confidence with the balloon launch team. I try to accentuate the positive anyway, something along the lines like multiple rigs and the potluck!!

Jim,

Rosetta and I will do the Meet and Greet. We will be posting a thread later to ask for volunteers and snack/finger food for the event.

Thanks George and Rosetta and John and Cindy for taking these activities on. We're looking for a couple to ramrod the pot luck dinner. How about some of the new people? You'll get all the help you'll need.

I agree with Jim, heading up a rally event is really nothing more than making a post on a separate thread under the rally topic. For instance to head up the Pot Luck dinner, a person would post asking what each person would bring, then would keep a list on the forum so that everyone knows what to bring to complement the other's choices (not to mention that us food lover's can salivate over the selections for the weeks leading up to the rally!!). Then being responsible for set-up and clean-up after the event is always a mass chip-in effort from everyone that is present. As Jim said, a good experience and a great opportunity to get more familiar with rally functions!!

BUMP
Slightly over two months to go. Tempis fugit. If we don't have suggestions for movie night, it will be Bingo's choice. A pot luck co-ordinator is still needed. As Bingo said, co-ordination is all that is involved, the actual labor seems to get done by everyone, every time. If the group would like, we can have informal morning get togethers in the pavilion. The campground has one pavilion with a kitchen and told me that they give that to the largest group there at the time. I think we have a lock on that.

I was under the impression that someone was going to bring Andy Griffith Show or Mayberry RFD DVD's? I can't remember who offered so please confirm. I do like the idea since it fits in with what I guess will be the general theme of the rally? I am definitely going to do the Mayberry Squad Car ride.

The pot luck dinner will be co-ordinated by Bill & Cindy Daniels and Tom & Sharon Macauley. Thanks guys. We'll be working out a schedule soon.
