We finally made it here! Drove most of the night so we could have the day to just goof off. We are at the KOA here in Lawrence. I finally got the Wi Fi figured out. The Wi Fi is $2.00 a day. This so far is a nice campground.
As far as Kansas goes. When on I-35 Turnpike I hope you like Mc Donalds. That is all there is...YUK!!!

Trukdoc, I know what you mean about the McDonalds on the turnpike. However, the Topeka rest area has Hardee's. I don't know how McDonald's missed on that one. The contract goes up for bid every few years. You'd think they'd go with a family type restaurant. We used to just exit the turnpike to eat. There are many good restaurants very close to the exits.

If you like BBQ, we recommend Buffalo Bob's on Massachusetts St., downtown Lawrence. 700 block. East side of the street, next to the Eldridge Hotel.

We did not eat at Buffalo Bob's but had a drink there. We had eaten too much already. The food looked and smelled great. Drinks were not bad either.
