Want to replace bathroom sink faucet
Never having worked with PEX I need advice and counsel. I have examined the undersink connections with a mirror and it appears that the connections are simply screw on/off like conventional piping. Is this correct or do I need something special to connect the new faucet to the previous fittings?

You mite have to do some work on the PEX pipe depending on what faucet you buy. The one I put in are's had the steel braided supply lines attached to the faucet so I cut down the PEX and installed angel stops. I have all tools to work on PEX as I'm a builder. You can get shark bite connectors at H\d or Lowe's to do the same thing. Good luck!

And easy to use. I even forked out a little extra to get the 'removal' tool in case I have to redo it for some reason.

Only thing I can add is buy a metal faucet. Plastic ones are junk.

I replaced all our fixtures. Its really easy. Get some plastic cts push on valves. Cut the lines low where you can get at them. Remove the lines from the fixture for re use. Push your new valve onto the pex coming out of the floor. Remove the old and install the new fixture. Install the saved lines on your new fixture. Cut a section off that matches the valve length. Now you should be able to push the line down into the floor and up into your new fixture lines. Hope that makes sense.

I replaced all the faucets in our 3582, kitchen, bedroom and toilet area. I never used pex but after seeing it done found an a tool on Amazon that will crimp and remove rings plus a tuning cutter all in 1 pkg for about $35. Great investment since I had to redo all the connections as the new faucets did not line up exactly with old ones. I prefer the crimp one rather than the shark bite push on ones, call me old fashion but I think it provides a tighter seal. I carry extra pex, fittings and tools in the basement in case I need on trip repairs. Also have caps in case I need to cap off a leak. I used the braided connectors but make sure you buy ones that are long enough to “adjust” to the length. I bought a 16” vs a 12” to allow for looping it around so it would fit.

I agree, I do not like the push on type of connecter vs a solid connection. They are just so easy to use. I would never use them in a buried situation where they were not readily accessible. House vs camper are 2 different worlds though.

There is something a little more comforting about a crimp tight connection. That said, I do have a few shark byte connectors in my house that work great...no leaks. I've also replaced a few faucets in my house recently with Pfister. They use snap-together connections. None of them leak either. I do wonder about the impact of the plumbing in an RV that is moving and jostling all of the time and whether crimping is better than press-on. Given the flexibility in the pipes it seems that both could work well.
Sounds like a couple here have used the Shark Bytes with success in their rigs. I'm going to re-route the pex under my kitchen sink and have been considering this very issue.

I work at the Home Depot and have used shark bites through out my house I built and the 5er as well. All water lines in the 5er have shark bite ball valves.

Shark bite connectors are popular and easy -- but very expensive. In my house, I am still old school with sweat fittings.
