First trip of the year

Just got back from a long weekend trip to the other end of Nebraska. loved the way the new silverado Duramax towed. Our son was with us so the milage we got was not real great, (8.5 to 11) --I know he went more than 60-65 mph some of the time. We went on Hiway 92 and 2 to Alliance and as Cruzin2 can vouch for us, those roads are not exactly flat. we had some 30mph wind from the side and were pleasantly surprised about how stable the Mountaineer was in the wind but the wind definately helped decrease the diesel milage. Uneventful trip, except for running out of propane. can't wait to go out again but will have to wait for several weekends now.

Glad your first trip of the year went well. Here in the south we get to use ours pretty much year around. I can only imagine having to wait through the cold months to go out again. Sounds like the Duramax did a good job. Have a great camping season.

Paul & Jan, Glad to hear your first outing went well. We have found that our mpg on the diesel increased after a few thousand miles for break-in. Keep us posted on future adventures.
