Convience center varmit controller?

Somewhere I saw a gadget that fit in the opening where the water hose comes into the bottom of the cc. It was made of two pieces with a hole for the water hose and a small one for the cable.
No one from CW or Dustys ever heard of it and it's not in my parts book.
I know I'm not dreaming, what is it called and where can I get one?

I had thought at one time of making one out of plywood sheets cut round with drilled holes, then cuttin it in half and using threaded rods and nuts to hold it in place. I didn't even know that they were made. Should be pretty easy to fabricate, though. I would be interested in seeing who and how they stole my idea before I could get it patented, sell millions, make millions, and retire early. Oh well, on to the next brainstorm!!

You are not dreaming, I have also saw it and would like to get one.
I saw it on a unit at the Goshen Rally, but I can't remember who had it.
I hope they reply.

Here's one, but I think that I have seen a different one someplace else that looked a little better. Can't remember where though (CRS).

That is a good idea. If someone finds it would you post the web address here please? The one with a hole for cable and hose.

I have made one from a rubber sink stopper from the dollar store. It probably isn't substantial enough to keep out mice but it seems to do well on bugs and small creatures. I imagine with some weight on it, mice would be stopped as well.

I cut a hole with a hole saw for the hose and then cut a split in it from the edge to the hose opening. Cable fits into the hole as well.

Did you look at the link that I posted above? They have all kinds of different configurations. You could get the one for the water hose, and drill the proper sized hole for the cable lead.

Emmel,

Fred & Roberta had the device you are describing. I wish I could remember what he called it. I believe he purchased it at one of the regional rallies.

Hey Fred, you out there?

Hi folks, the item i have is the one by RV CRITTER GAURD . I drilled my own additional hole for the tv-cable . I did find this at the national raly in Perry GA a couple of years ago, the can be contacted on line at rvcrittergaurd.com, or similar to that. The link in KTMANIAKs post will take you there

Guys, I like the foam seal a lot better than the one that I had envisioned. The one that I wanted to build would have been out of a bladder type material, maybe truck tube, and slit into pie sections. That way, no matter where the hoses fell, the seal would still gather around them. Often the fresh water hose is stiff from the cold, and difficult to manage through the two holes and into the center. The real problem with my idea, was that it would have only kept the bigger critters out, and not the spiders and smaller ones. Thanks for the link and ideas. Probably won't be built or purchased until after the rally.

Steve, even if you stop spiders at that location they're going to get in through the other numerous locations. The only way we've been able to eliminate, or at least significantly reduce, their access is to use a good, strong repellant like what you'd spray around the foundation of your home. What I used was recommended by someone on MOC. I think it's called Home Defense or something like that. I forgot the brand but it is a name brand. When we start to have ant or spider problems I go out and spray on and around everything that touches the ground. Stabilizers, tires, hoses, electric cord, etc. And I also spray in the convenience center itself, especially on the floor of the center.

I have been using a product by Bayer for the ants and spiders and such. I was wanting what Fred has to keep out anything bigger.

Great ideas about the spiders and small critters. I'll give it a try.

I made a plug for mine out of the plastic type Styrofoam that is used for packaging. I cut it to be a little over sized and drilled and 3/4 inch hole in the center and then split it about 3/4 of the way through. Fits tight in the opening and around the hose. Cable can come through also.

Unless memory fails me, and that is very possible, Orv or somebody made a pass through from plastic pipe, etc and posted the photos and particulars on the forum. Have to search for it as it was over a year ago for sure.
I would have thought Keystone would have improved this area with the new models, but does not look like it.

Regards

I bought a plug that's used on 4" pvc pipe when they pressure test it. I then drilled a hole in the center to slide the hose thru that makes it big enough to put the tv cable thru also. I take and stuff some round foam around the hose and cable to hopeful e keep critters out. Nice thing with the plug is you can screw tighten it in the hole and it isn't that expensive.

On my 06 Montana I have two plastic threaded covers, for the hose, and all I did was install the tv cable connector on one side of the cover and cut a hole in the cover. I also add some steel wool around the hose connection, much cheaper
