Trailer brakes not self adjusting

I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but I have adjusted my brakes on my Montana so my wheels turn about 2 revolutions each. When I check them before I leave on another trip, they pretty much free wheel. This has been the norm the three times I adjusted them. My manual says I have self adjusting brakes. Doesn't seem to me that that's what's happening here. What is the normal wheel spin for a properly adjusted self adjusting brake system...?

my manual calls them never adjust brakes, and it seems that I heard that they are suppose to self adjust moving forward, but I am learning that the manual is very generic. All I can tell is that hey are not adjusting themselves like would expect them to.

When you manually adjust, try having someone apply the brakes while you spin the tire. It re-centers the brake shoes ... you may go another couple of clicks then. I've never heard of a "number of normal wheel spins". Just adjust them till a slight drag is felt. My auto adjusters never have adjusted the same between all 4 wheels.
