Doug & Sharon,

We have used Tombstone Hills RV Park. Not a 5 star park but it does the job. It's just N. of town. 800 348-3829.

I would encourage you to spend a day in Bisbee AZ., about 25 mi. south of Tombstone and take a day trip over to the Chiricahua Nat'l Monument.

Bisbee is a wonderful example of an 1800's Minning Boom Town, The Copper Queen Hotel is very haunted. Many historic buildings and you might want to take the tour of the Mine. Hard Hats and Rain Slickers provided.

The Chiricahua Nat'l Monument is a visual natural wonder with wind carved spires towering over your heads as you drive through the narrow canyon. It's the place where Cochise and Geronimo took refuge. Geronimo surrendered here. Look up the Park on the Web., lots of info. there.

Be ready for some cold weather. Tombstone and the surronding areas do get light snow from time to time that time of year.

I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy your trip.

Happy Camping

We've stayed at Butterfield RV Resort in Benson, a very nice resort, but not the full amenities of the large parks. That is... no full time rec director and ballroom, etc. Benson is on I-10 at the intersection of the road that goes down to Tombstone. We enjoyed the trip back and forth to Tombstone and Bisbee from there. In fact, we liked Bisbee better than Tombstone. In case you are a reader, you might want to check out novels by J.A. Jance, who has written a number of novels about the area of Bisbee, Tombstone, and all of Cochise County. I found it a lot of fun to read those novels when visiting there. The novels are mysteries, and the main character is a female sheriff of Cochise county based in the country seat of Bisbee.

We have stayed at the Stampede Rv Park in Tombstone. It is nothing fancy. Small sites. There are 3 more parks in town. Also small sites. There is a PassPort America about 10 miles out of town. It is a real nice campground with better size sites. At ST Davids there are 2 or 3 campgrounds, plus Benson has several campgrounds. There is a good Rv parts place in Benson. In a 40 mile radius of Tombstone there are several place to see.
