Contrary to what a lot of folks will say, I would recommend that you make your purchase a commodity bid to get the very best price on the new unit and buy it from whomever has the best price. Then have it serviced at the location that has the best service. The idea that your local dealer will not service what they don't sell or that you somehow get better service at the place you buy a rig is total BS!
Go online and get bids from multiple dealers then play them off each other till you get to the true lowest out the door cash price. Then repeat the process adding in a trade in if you have one (which it appears you don't?). Once you get that best price then go thru the same process to get the best loan.
Buy your rig from the place with the very best deal period. DO NOT SIGN FOR THE RIG UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE A THROUGH INSPECTION AND THEY HAVE FIXED EVERYTHING!!!! AGAIN DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL IT IS FULLY FIXED!! Not signing the bottom line is your #1 best weapon to make sure that the dealer does fix EVERYTHING up front. Once you drive the rig off the lot your at the mercy of their good will and 99% of dealers will have very little of that no matter what their smiling salesmen tell you verbally. Do not fall for the trap of buying from any dealer just because you like the salesman. Salesmen do this for a living and work hard to make a connection with you. They WILL use that trust to take more of your money!
Once you have purchased your unit find the best service ONLY business in your area to do the maintenance on it. Do not carry it to a SALES dealership. Sales dealerships only have service departments to prep vehicles and get them off the lot. They are not interested in doing quality work and could care less if you ever bring the unit back to them again. By contrast a service only business is very interested in having you happy with their work because they want you to return again. It is a totally different mindset.
Now there are going to be people on here that say "oh my dealer was wonderful and I got great service". Those folks probably paid to much for their rig and were lucky on the service. Trust no one and conduct this as the business transaction that it is!!! You don't want that smiling salesman to get a dime more than he can squeeze out of you. Your not out there to make friends with the dealership. Your there to get the very best price you can. Period!
Some folks are going to say I am cold hearted or untrusting. Nope, I WAS A SALESMAN!
