We ordered our handrail from Amazon and it bolted right on. Bought it originally for my mother-in-law to help her get in/out of our trailer (she uses a walker). Now that we have it, it is nice to have for us as well. Well worth it!!

We also bought a moryde handrail through amazon. It bolted on using the existing bolts already mounted in the side rail of the steps. It really works great and is a real Benefit to safety enter and exit the camper. It is well worth the money. We saw it on a unit at the fall rally two years ago.

FYI...Not all handrails will work in all units. I have the MorRyde steps also, but if I install the handrail for it,I CANT get the steps stowed in the coach as the rail will hit the interior wall.

For us to use that handrail,I would have to remove it everytime I stowed the steps in the coach. We DID purchase the LARGER outside handle from Amazon, made by Stromberg/Carlson,as its a direct bolt on using the factory holes.

CarWin is correct. I measured the distance you need when the stairs are in the up position and from the door frame, you need to have 32 1/2" for the rail to clear. We only have this installed on our front door. It wouldn't fit on the back door because it opens into our hallway.

handrail would not work

We bought the rail at the dealer and took it home for a test fit. It missed by about 1" being able to pass by the cabinet across from the door (see pic below). Took it back and got a refund.

Talking

We also purchased the MorRyde handrail from Amazon and it works PERFECTLY and is very helpful for us and the younger grands. Amazon had one with a "damaged box" for about $35.00 and I ordered it. One corner of the box had slight damage but the item was perfect.

We have 2 doors works on 1 it’s great.
We really don’t use the other door much it’s in the hallway.
Have thought about the extended folding handle.

Ours fits perfectly inside our HC. Got the steps and the handrail to help my 90 year old mother in law. Works great!

Thats what we ended up doing. It was a direct bolt on replacement from Stromberg/Carlson. We love ours, as it extended away from the coach another 10" and dropped down anther 8",if memory serves me correctly.

We purchased a set of stairs with little landing from Port-A-step. He hand makes them. I have bad knees and it reduces the height between each step. But we don't have the more ryde yet(on order) so they may be about the same height. But I love our steps.

Yes and we love it. I had to modify the mounting holes for our 3811 so that it wouldn’t hit the cabinets

We had the same problem so I mounted it about 1 1/2” lower so it wouldn’t hit the cabinets

Thy are worth EVERY penny and very easy to install. We enjoyed the extra stability, but after my wife broke her ankle while on the road, the handrail was priceless in aiding in her ability to get in and out of the camper.

We have a 3790RD and there were no issues with the handrail hitting cabinets.

I bought the Stromberg Carlson AP-101 Rail Mate a few years back. This mounts beside the factory steps that do not fold back into the inside of the coach like the MorRyde steps. It has a very sturdy square stock bar that fits into a square-slotted bracket with a BIG set screw in it that mounted to the frame where the steps are mounted. It has an adjustable leg for different terrain at the bottom of the handrail. I had to get some square stock with holes from the local big box store to replace the square bar that mounts to the steps, because the mounting screw holes did not align. I weigh over 280 lbs. and it takes me pulling on it and leaning against it with no problems.

Regarding the MorRyde railing, we too had the problem of it hitting the cabinets on our 3810MS. Solution was to use the top drilled holes in the railing for the lower mounting spot, and drill two new holes to line up with the upper mounting holes. Lowered it about 2 inches. Did not have to cut anything off the handrail, and it now clears the inside cabinet just fine. Love having that extra support going in and out. I guess it would be nice if MorRyde drilled a couple of extra holes for other mounting, but with so many different versions of trailers, I guess it's up to the owner to make it work.
