THANKS LONNIE

I followed Lonnie's recommendations and installed Bridgestone Duravis 250 Tires on the Monty today. It follows the truck like a dream, no sway at all and we where on a twisty road.
I am only sorry we are not near Lonnie to give him the sale. He sent me a list of tires to use as he has helped many members with tire info. If I am ever near him he will get my tire business.
No more chinese bombs the Missions are gone YEA!!!!!
A big THANKS TO YOU Lonnie
Don Ross

My truck will need new tires first and when it does I'm hauling it by Lonnie's.

Lonnie also got us on the right path over 2 years ago with his great advice. I in turn have passed that advice to others in my little corner of the world in Harvey, North Dakota getting a few to switch over to LT tires and those folks are greatfull as well! Cheers to Lonnie for helping fiver owners tow their rigs more safely with quality tires and not chinese timebomb crap.

I stopped by our local RV dealer. The new TT's they sell have upgraded tires on them - Marathons!

Lonnie has and remains a valuable resource to this forum on tires. Over 3 years ago he provided us with 5 recommendations for LT tires for our 3400. We chose the Bridgestone Duravis 500HD's and they still are on our rig. With good maintenance, rotations and balancing we have over 28000 miles on them. May have to think about new ones next year.

We appreciate you Lonnie!

Lonnie does have good coffee, possibly ok certainly better than ozz
warning you have to go 1000yds into texas from new mexico but it's worth it
i also like the idea of having someone who thinks, knows, and possibly sleeps on tires to ask about something i know nothing about.
as an aside i oncr bought 4 retreads for my pugeot(french car) and had all 4 blow on the new york turnpike in 1968, what did i know
mikey

I too would like thank Lonnie for his recomended list. Three weeks ago I had two tires develop tread seperations heading to Florida. When the second let go 200 miles after the first, I was 50 yards from a tire store in downtown Winter Haven.

They were not a Brigestone/Firestone dealer, but based on Lonnies preferred list and dealer inventory, we are now riding on BFG Commercial T/A's.

Thank you Lonnie

Regarding BFG Commercial T/A Tires, I would not recommend them.
A few months ago I had 4 under my RV.
Today, only one is left and I wonder if I should trust it.
One recent BFG Tire was recalled in Sept and replaced with a Michelin LTX MS 2.
One BFG 0909 Tire had a small sidewall flap delamination on our way to TX in Nov. Held air well until after I shortly reached a Hispanic Tire Shop that sold me a Nexxen Roadian HT (will probably make it my new spare fairly soon)as it seems to be an "off brand".
My other BFG 0909 Tire had a catastrophic total tread delamination earlier this month on the way home to AL from TX. Replaced with a Michelin LTX MS 2.
So besides a recall I had two older BFG tires fail within 30 days of each other.
Not buying them ever again!

Interesting. Several years ago we had the BFG Commercial T/A tires (load range E) on our 2003 3295RK and they performed superbly. I hope they've not decreased the quality in recent years.

Hookman, if you ever get anywhere near Farwell, TX / Clovis, NM, be sure to stop in to see Lonnie. He and Vanessa are truly nice people. We had the pleasure of stopping there a couple of years ago and having dinner with them. I also did not end up buying from Lonnie but when I needed tires his advice was gold to me. I trust him completely.

We took Lonnie's advice as well and went with the Duravis 250s and are very pleased. We've pulled our 2955 about 5000 miles since installing the new tires and have had no problems and the trailer pulls much better than with the China bombs. Thanks Lonnie for the great advice.
