Catalytic Heater

I just finished installing a Olympian Wave 6 Catalytic heater in our rig. We do a lot of dry camping in cold weather and the furnace eats up too much battery power (and propane). We had a one of these catalytic heaters in our last rig and it works great.

I use a Mr Buddy heater in my camper. They are much more efficient than the furnace and don’t run your battery down. I will also use the stove for heat on a cold morning. If you don’t wont to run a generator for hours they are the best way to heat when you are boondocking.

Hi Scott and Alta
We have had the wave 6 in are past RV as well . We now own a 3120rl and want to install the same heater in the same spot that you did . I was concerned That there might be a tank of other obstruction in the under belly . How did work for you ?
Thanks

Works great. Just got back from a trip and used it a lot; mostly on low. In my trailer, there is nothing in the way. I just tapped into the propane line for the kitchen that runs down the right side. Your unit will be different; a couple years ago, they swapped the kitchen and dining slides. A 3120 was the kitchen on the left. Still should not matter; just find a place to tap in.

I have a 3130re. Same floor layout as far as the island goes. Remove the left panel under the sink that covers the plumbing. You should be able to fish a gas line down the hole then forward to the basement.

I broke into my refrigerator line and put a quick disconnect.
