Storage box for sewer fittings.
New camper doesn't have the trays next to the baggage doors that I used for the fittings. That's fine, because the basement is much taller. However, I don't really want to store the fittings there and I didn't want them up front taking up space. So, because of the drop frame, I thought I'd attach a box next to the dump hose storage that came with the unit.
I was struggling to figure out what kind of box to put there, when I remembered I had an extra Harbor Freight steel ammo box from another project.
So, did some quick measurements and test fitting and it is perfect. I cut the top and side handles off and painted it black. Then I drilled six 1/4" holes in the bottom and used self drilling 1/4" x 3/4" screws to attach it to the frame like the factory did with the dump hose storage.

Finished product.
I hate phone cameras that mess up the rotation. I'll fix them later, just don't have time right now.
Sorry.

Due to the drop frame, I went just in front of the wheels and put the 5x5 vinyl fence covers under it as sewer hose storage units. I can get 40' of sewer hose plus the fitting in the one tray. The other tube I use to carry 40' of 5" vinyl gutter to make a chute to hold the sewer hose in while it is resting on the slinky. I painted them to match the color of the unit. This is the fourth camper I've done this too.

Great idea Golfmedic. Can you show a picture of how you attached the fence covers to the underside of the unit?

I buy 1" square aluminum tubing and cut it to 16" or so and then "C" clamp it to the frame on the outer flange where I want the tubes to hang making sure it will fit on both sides and that I can still get a jack in front of the wheels. I then drill through the tubing and through the outer flange(trying to center in outer flange) and then go ahead and put bolts through the tubing/flange and finger tighten and then remove clamp and let it hang. I use 1/4" bolts by 7" in length with nylon lock nuts and washers. Then tighten snuggly.

Todd I really like your idea on using an ammo box for sewer fittings. Just might have to steal that mod.

You bet. I had the hose storage from the factory and the bumper storage, but neither of those were big enough for the main elbow.
I put one clear fitting in with the hose, but there was room in the box for a spare. I also put gloves in this box.

Had to rotate them. Was bugging me and they are too hard to make sense of.
OCD, I know....
I may add another one to the other side for holding propane hoses and fittings for the grill.

You know, I've mounted an onboard air compressor under a truck hidden in an ammo can before and NEVER once thought about this for the accessories!! Great job!

That holder came with the unit from Montana. I believe it is Valterra. It has feet molded into it that are also mounted with self drilling screws.
