Good idea! Don't forget, they'll come up thru the holes for the jacks and the sewer line also.

In my experience while it solves the immediate problem it opens up more places for them to get in

I just push some steel wool around the hose. It's cheap, works perfectly, installs in about 30 seconds and is re-usable. No mice will ever go through it.

Hi

How do you keep ants out?

I use paper towels and spray them with bug spray it seems to keep the ants out but rodents would just pull the towels out so far this hasn’t happened but one time and fortunately the rodents built their nest in the boiler stack of my wife’s model locomotive and when I moved it from the trailer to the house for summer storage the cats took care of the rodents. LOL

I found brass wool works to keep rodents out of the hose access, and it doesn't rust. The DW found a spray for the bottom that the rodents avoid that I apply once a month. We have used Borax around the tires and legs to deter ants.

When our old unit was stored outside near a prairie hay field, I put mothballs or mothball crystals all around the tires and the front landing gear legs. I also put packets of Fresh Cab in the basement and front storage areas. I also put dryer sheets around each of the holes where the water and gas lines come up through the floor of the unit. Never had a problem in the Monte but we had a cabin about 10 yards from the Monte and it always had critters in it and constant trapping was needed. Since we store the new Monte in it's own building now, I use some of the electronic devices to keep the critters away and have had no problems with critters at all in there.

Nice. I use a rubber vent roof boot, inverted and cut to size, for the same outcome.
