We have been using them for many years now. I guess it's time to switch to plastic ones! Much cleaner looking.
I still get people asking me what those are there for..................

I have used plactic clothes pins for the last couple of years.. If I forget to take them off when we travel I have to replace them when we setup again.. Then they block the water flow with whatever falls off the trees..
I had some small pieces of 3/4" pvc pipe left from one of my many projects that I have done on the Monty... cut 2 short pieces.. then cut them it half length wise.. rounded one end..Then screwed it fast to the short downspout. Did not make the screw to tight so it would swing back when going down the road... or get to close to a tree branch..Keeps the water from driping down the side of the Monty..

Up in northern Minnesota today and read about the clothes pins and went to the local hardware store and bought some climbed the ladder put them on and an hour later the rain started falling WOW how cool is that.I stood under the awning and watched the rain fall away from the Monty. Thanks for the tip!

I like the tip from lfw (could this stand for "love fort wilderness?")
I started using wooden ones years ago, but after saturation level is hit, it fails to divert. I switched to plastic but the gutter blockage is a real pain, you still need to clean them. I will try the 3/4" pvc, I know i have some around somewhere...thanks

Just yesterday I noticed one of the fivers here had another solution. Clear plastic tubing about 4" long stuck on the down spout. I saw another one a couple years ago that had clothes line rope hanging from the spout. Kept the run off from splattering when it hit the concrete. I just let it run off like it is.

We put plastic tubing on the end of each drain and screwed them in. They stay forever, never fall off and work great. Got the tube from ace hardware and used 1/8 or 1/4 each screws to in place.
