Axle Alignment
The right rear tire on my Montana is wearing on the outside edge, much more so than the inside edge or any of the edges on the other three tires. It seems I've read here and on other forums, that the axle is bent/out of alignment, but it can be bent or somehow fixed so it is back in alignment. There are a couple of Dexter dealers around (one is Truck Pro), but they said they can not realign the axle, but would replace it.
Any advice that anybody has due to similar problems and thier solution would be appreciated.

We just had ours aligned at an alignment center in Flint, MI that does trucks, buses and RVs. Then we replaced the Missions. Guess we'll know how it all worked out by the time we get to Texas in January.

Don't forget to try balancing the tires if you have not done so. In some cases it is all that is needed.

Keep checking around. We had our axles aligned this past August. Cost $178 each axle. Me thinketh their is more profit in replacing the axles. Work done in Truck Align in Altoon, WI outside of Eau Claire.

Just before our 6000 mile trip I had TruckAlign in Eau Claire, WI align my axles, part of the process involves actually bending the axle. So yes, if you find the right shop, they don't have to be replaced, just put back into spec's.

I had the same problem with mine. Before you go any further pulling it, check your ubolts. My tire was wearing poorly on my trip across the country last year. Finally blew in Iowa. After getting the tire repaired I got under the RV and all 16 nuts on the ubolts were FINGER TIGHT. I barely avoided a real disaster.

I also had a similar problem earlier this year. I elected to have the axle replaced because the axle was only $150 dollars plus labor. It would have cost that much to have it straightened out.
