Day/Night shades and window crank

On our 340RLQ, the window crank is like an "L" and the top of the "L" prevents us from getting the shades over it, because it sticks out too far and the window coverings are solid as opposed to fabric. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I believe I understand your dilemna.

We took the handle OFF, store in cupboard above the window, put on to open and/or close. Put window shade UP when I need to open window. When I don't have that handle there I can put my shade down all the way.

We found we rarely open the windows, you know, where we camp, temps, cold, hot, allergies, etc. So, it is not a problem to do this when we really desire an open window.

To use the handle we do NOT have to put that screw back in, just slip the handle over the cogs.

Hope I understood that right.

I took the handle off and replaced it with a round knob. Any RV supply will have one.

Thank you, Carol and awaywego. Can't understand why it left the factory this way...

The handles never gave us a problem. I just pulled them down to the handle and it usually covered the window. On a couple, once down to the handle I just gently pulled the shade outward and pulled it down a little further. It would sit on the handle with no problem. did that for a year in the 3400RL

I had the same problem with my BS but with the round knobs. At the Service Center, they gave me shorter knobs (the shaft that connects to the window gear is much shorter) and that has helped. Additionally, the valances that mount around the window with a "L" bracket, I had to bend the "L" bracket outward to give me more clearance to pull the blinds out and away from the handles.
