Nuvi Functions

Just found out that if you touch the top of the Nuvi when in "Get you there" mode, it will display each and every turn until your destination.

You can also hit the lower right icon of "Turn in.." but it talks to you and doesn't give you a list.

Also, if it's like my 2720, touch closer to the bottom and you get a speedometer and a bunch of analysis of your trip, like average moving speed, etc.

Good timing!! I accidently found that feature just yesterday while fumbling around trying to "re-stick" the mount that had come loose when I was trying to adjust the sun glare. I didn't know what I had done to get it, though.

I'm like Brad - I LOVE my Nuvi (350)!! I bought a "refurbished" one off the Internet (pretty cheap) and then Garmin sent me the latest map update (2008) for free. I just loaded it and a few addresses for which I had just found the street (not the house number) or didn't find at all are there now. I've put off loading personal POIs and customizing the auto icon because I had read the map update might wipe them out. Now when I get a little extra time I'll try loading some downloads from the Internet. There are even walking/talking tours for places like San Francisco.

Larry,

Did the 2008 maps upload OK (I assume you uploaded through a PC)?

I have a pretty slow PC at home + dial up ISP, so it took awhile. The first part was to upgrade software and then to replace the maps both from an Internet connection. The software upgrade went fine, but then when it came to the maps, I first got a break in my connection (dial up)at 29%. Next try I got an I/O error at 22 %. I think I even got another one but at a different % (maybe 50 something). Then I said "ok, one more time and I'll take it to work with me". That time it worked. I guess you just have to get verbal with it. before the upgrade, we were going on a little road trip, so decided to drive by and see where one of my wife's cousins lived. I put in the address, but it only came up with the street name. That's when I decided to try to load the new maps (I've had it a couple of weeks). After the upgrade it found the house number also!
