Wouldn't the big differences on insurance costs be what coverage you have. Wouldn't there be a big difference if you had full replacement cost at lets say 90K for your trailer or you had your rig covered at 50K with no full replacement clause?

I would think your specific coverage under a full timers policy would greatly effect your premiums. Of course other obvious things effect it also, like driving record, region of the country you are in, age group, and claim history. I think many companies even factor in your credit rating.

We found that our claim history which is 0 claims and credit rating of over 800 along with no traffic violations made minimal effect on the premium much to our surprise. The main effect was value of RV along with area of residency along with general loss for the area of residency being the largest factor

Under $700 with Progressive, multi policy discount because of motorcycles.

There are at least two major coverages that are needed for full timers that many carriers don't provide. When you have a homeowners policy covering your primary home, you have some coverage for personal liability and personal property that extends from that policy. These two coverages are vital to protect you from things that may happen that are not related to driving or pulling your RV. For example, generally your liability coverage from the tow vehicle extends to the trailer. This isn't the case when it is unhooked and parked. Somebody falls down the steps coming out of the restroom and you could be looking at a liability loss that is not covered under your standard RV policy. Risking all that you have worked your entire life for. So, finding a company that has coverage for full timers. I don't know about Progressive, but Good Sam does provide such coverage and caters to full timers who don't have a primary homeowners policy.

Is anyone who full times having the same experience and what have you done? This increase seems excessive and I don't seem to be able to find any options. Progressive is $500 more than my renewal cost. Miller Insurance is more and a quote from PPL is also $500 more. Blue Sky no longer writing full time, Gieco said they don't do full timers any longer, Any suggestions? It appears that medical insurance is not the only type of insurance taking advantage of people!!
We use Formost for the Fifth wheel and American Family for our 2015 F350 dually. We are full time and no home.

We just renewed through Good Sam/National General....Annual policy for Montana 3721 (full time), F450 and F150 for around $3k. One of our issues has always been the coverage for a F450 since most carriers consider this a commercial vehicle.

Hi Don, I have USAA and I didn't think they did full-time insurance. Can you tell me about that? Thank you in advance. Lynne
