Air ride hitch vs Superglide
Not new to towing, but last 5er was longbox truck.
Really like the idea of the Pullrite auto slide, but also am really liking the thought of an air ride hitch to lessen the shock on new 3811ms.
TV is '18 Duramax denali 2500 shortbed
Dont do a lot of boondocking, mostly NY to Fla.
So debating the slider, but certainly don't want to get into the cab

My friend's son in law has an Open Range 3X377FLR, but similar to yours in length and weight. He put the Sidewinder on his and has pulled with it for a year now. It works, but "Boy Howdy" when hooked to the truck the Sidewinder looks bowed for no better description with all that fiver sitting on it.

I'm using a '17 Ram 2500 shorty with B&W Companion (manual slide) and Flex Air Pin Box - first unit so nothing to compare to but very smooth. Have only used the slide feature twice, once was just in case backing into tight spot and second was backing into lower parking spot to keep unit from hitting bed rails.

Craigslist made my mind up...........
Score of the day, New never used 18k Pullrite Superglide $250.00
I just order up a Superail kit and have a clean bed when the hitch is out, and the capture plate.
So I'll have a $2500.00 plus hitch for under a grand.........
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes

Nice find!! I had the Superglide in a 2013 F150 5' bed with Max Tow package pulling 26' fifth wheel and a 18' bass boat in tandem all over the US and it worked perfect.

You will love it. Be sure to read the lubrication instructions carefully. If it is an old one, check the PR site for the use of spray graphite instead of grease. New ones use a plastic slide which does not need lubrication.

With the plastic plates on the Superglides, a daily spray of WD40 is required.
From page 6 of the owners manual:
You will find with use, that the Plastic Wear Plate will wear the shiny zinc coating off the Way Tubes in areas, creating
“bare” areas of the metal, as well as light scoring marks in areas of repeated use. This is normal, but will be protected
as you apply WD-40 to the Way Tubes with each day’s use.

Our Superglide is five years old with about 50,000 miles on it towing our rig, and WD40 every day prior to hitching up. It still works great.
