When you replace the rod, rinse out the heater to get any sediment out from the bottom.

thanks, I will. Would you believe I have a 1" and a 1 1/8" socket, but no 1 1/16"? Yep, had to order one on Amazon Prime. Such an odd size.

Go figure.

Changed out the anode rod yesterday. It has been about 20 months. WOW!!! There was a lot of sediment in the bottom of the tank. I was surprised. From now on, I will be checking it every 12 months, and I am not a full timer, just a weekend camper.

I live in Florida so I do not winterize, but I do not camp in the summer, just too hot, so that is when I will do my winterization from now on.
