fireplace in 3600re

Can anyone tell me if they make a bigger heater for the fireplace? The 5400 btu just doesn't seem to give off much heat.

Are you sure you have the heat turned up? There is a dial on the left side that regulates the heat and flame while the switch on the right just turnes it off and on. It should get as hot as is safe to get.

I think the fireplace is made to just take the chill off. Not to be a main source of heat. Ours didn't put out all that much heat (in our old 3670 -- haven't got the new unit home yet) but it did take the chill off the room. One thing we did notice was the heat went up to the bedroom. As they say, heat rises

Don't gig me if I am a BTU or so off..a 1500W space heater will provide @ 5120BTU per hour...750W @ 2560BTU per hour. So the very pretty eye appealing fireplace at 5400 BTU is about as effective as the 39.95 Ceramic heater that we use.It can not be much bigger as it will exceed the power requirements of the camper.Yes it does take the chill off the room..so does the 39.95 ceramic heater. Personal choice.

Rich is right, they are limited to power source. 1,500 watt heater + light + fan. You can get much bigger electric fireplaces, even for your home, but they are still 1,500W heaters.
