No Hot Water

I realize this is a Montana forum but my neighbor has a no hot water problem that I thought I would throw out there. He has a 2016 Grand Design Reflection, no hot water anywhere but the tank is full of hot water. We checked the winterization controls and everything is in the proper position and he has plenty of cold water and good cold water pressure. He told me that last night they had hot water but this morning they didn't. Again, I know this is a Montana forum but I'm trying to get an answer to help out a fellow camper and just maybe there are some former Grand Design owners that might be able to help. Thanks..be safe out there.

The issue lies on the backside of the water heater, the check valve that is on the output of the hot water output. The spring inside goes wacky and blocks the outlet. Turn off water, power to heater, remove valve, replace if he needs to winterize without getting safe anti-freeze in heater tank...if not, put nipple in place of check valve and count it good. Need an on road fix...call mobile rv repairman or turn off water, power to heater, disconnect connection on tank, take screwdriver and punch out valve inards.

Hi

Is this by any chance a tankless water heater?

Had to fix my neighbors water heater two years ago, same issue. My water heater just decided it was more appropriate to leak than reduce hot water flow and took new unit to correct. Just another day in the rv park.

I also had to replace our Suburban 12 gal at 3 1/2 years old due to a tank leak. Ordered from Amazon for $300 less than dealer wanted. Installed myself so not sure how much I saved on labor. Easy install.
