Hooking up this morning and finally heading south. I had looked up my first fuel stops a few days ago and made a notation of the locations and price of diesel. When I checked those prices last night I found that they had all dropped another .10 per gallon. I am not sure what I will do with the extra $4.00 I am going to save today!

Big sign: $3.29/Cash Little sign: $3.79/Credit in Huntington Beach, CA. Luckily I had cash in the wallet. Scamsters would have got an extra $10+ out of me if I didn't notice the "convenience fee" tacked on to CC transactions.

I like to use my credit card as I get points when using it. So now I have a refillable Shell gift card that gives you the cash price and still get my points.. I can fill the card online when ever I want..

Paid $3.04 in Wesley Chapel, Florida today. This is huge as my truck and my car are both diesel now! Truck gets what, 10-15 MPG depending on whether towing or not. Car gets 31 city, 43 hiway. Life is good in the car...

Here diesel is still above $3.00. $3.14 is the best I've seen. I filled my daily driver with gas today @ $2.49.

Diesel prices around here (Portland, OR) are all over the place. From a high of $3.99 for a "freeway" station, to a low of $2.49 for a side road station. That said, something I just noticed the other day that is part of the reason for the difference, and those with older trucks might take note......the low priced diesel I have seen is a B-20 grade, in other words 20% bio-fuel. The higher prices are pure diesel, or a maximum of 5% bio. So, if you think you are getting a real good price on diesel, better check and make sure your truck is approved for the 20% bio. My new one is.....my old one was NOT. SIGH, I remember when diesel was diesel, and that was it!

Indian Land, SC, Diesel just dropped from $3.34 to $3.09. I went a head and filled up in case we need the truck for Christmas (going to the mountains). If it looks like snow, we will take the truck, other wise the car.

Filled up yesterday the truck with diesel and paid $3.06 here in Billings MT. Enjoy for the short term. I am hearing that the oil companies in the Bakken are starting to shut down drilling. When the surplus of oil dry's up OPEC will jack the prices back up again. Saudi Arabia knows where the price point is for the Bakken and Eagle Ford producers to make money. They don't want the US to become energy independent.
