Keystone calls it quits...on Mountaineer TTs
I found out Monday that Keystone called it quits on all Mountaineer travel trailers. This leaves the people like myself that cannot pull a 5th wheel out in the cold!! I really had my heart set on a 35RET!! I was ready to go trade.... Guess I will have to keep this one or shop another brand. Bad decision Keystone!!

There must be some of them on lots somewhere, right? If you had your heart set on one then you can probably find one. When did they stop production or are they still full filling orders?

Scott, where did the Mountaineer news come from. Can't seem to find anything on the discontinuance of the model from Thor or Keystone or RV news searches?? Curious to know. Tks. Dennis

the Dealer in Kansas City told us two weeks ago that they had been notified a couple days before about this. There are some out there on lots. The dealers that we have talked to all actied surpirsed that Keystone was dropping the TT. I see they have a new one "Bullett" or soething like that--maybe that is the replacement

Mountaineer TT have not been discontinued. They have production on hold due to the economy. They also have built several of the 34DBT floor plan that are still available now. Kerry

I agree with ScottyScott. We had our eye on a 35RET too. I guess I'm glad that we like our 326FKBS. I hope Keystone doesn't completely quit the Mountaineer TT business.

Sharon, I thought of you guys when I heard this. I too hope they don't discontinue it forever as there is definately a place for the TT.

I hate to hear this. I really thought I would go back to the TT down the road. I love my 5th wheel but really miss my Mountaineer 340RKBS twin to the 5th wheel. Lets hope the economy comes back and things get better over the next couple years.

It is no surprise that in order to survive Keystone must cut back production on some models They had already done this. At the fall rally it was observed that the Big Sky, Regular Montana and the Mountaineer 5thwheel were being built on the same line(the Montana plant) and the Line was not full. I would suspect that other models will be cut back as well.Survival is the name of the game right now...Whatever it takes. I am sure the TT will come back.

I too hope the TT returns. For our situation, the TT is our RV of choice. We discussed a new one a while back but we don't like any of the current floor plans as much as our 305FKS.

If you look on the road, look at what is the most popular item pulled on the highway, it's a fifth wheel trailers, toy boxes and class A moterhomes, that's where the money is at, and in this depression you produce items that sell the best, and supports your company. I'm sure that the Keystone travel trailer will see the show room after all this turmoil in the market turns around.

If the KC dealer you refer to is Lifestyle (formerly Naylors), take what they say with a grain of salt. They may look like a new dearership, but they have a history in the KC area that goes back a ways. Bob
