Just had to share with the 'family'.....

The tornado that came through Montgomery, Alabama this morning went right through our daughter's neighborhood, along the side of her house. The thing that saved her house from a direct hit was probably the 2 or 3 story apartments near her house that the funnel had to jump over first. She has a hole in her roof and hail damage but we are so thankful because we know it could have been so much worse. Houses in her neighborhood were destroyed.

The storms have passed and we're heading west to see our grandgirls.
Thank you, Lord.

Well, that certainly is good news. You were on my mind this AM when I watched the national news. A little roof damage is not so bad, when you look at the loss of one's home or life!

Enjoy your trip and those grandgirls!

Judy and Glen, we are grateful that your family came through this safely. It must be difficult being apart when something like this is occurring. God Bless you and yours.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. We waited around until we knew Terri could handle things and didn't need our help. She has a hole the size of a basketball in her roof from flying debris. Now there are people going to the emergency room with storm related injuries. Not a pretty picture.

Lisa, I hope you're taking shelter somewhere. It's a nasty storm front.

Thank goodness they are OK! Did they have warning enough to evacuate or were they actually in the house?

Along with that hail, the Lord was obviously showering your family with blessings. So glad that all the damage is manageable and every one is safe.

Judy,

Thank goodness everyone is ok. Tell your daughter to take pictures of damage and make any emergency repairs that she needs to do to keep from having additional damage because of the hole in her roof. Don't wait on the insurance adjuster to show up before she takes emergency measures. It sounds like the adjusters in that area may be busy.

Terri has a four foot hole in her roof, much larger that she first thought. She has inside damage from the water, too, of course. She's already notified her insurance adjuster and they were sending out someone to put a tarp on her roof. But the neighbors banded together and were working to get everyone's roof damaged covered.

She was at work, about 8 miles from her house, when I called to ask if she was watching the weather. Nope! Next time I called to say that one of the executives from the TV station was reporting from the front of his house about the damage. I thought I recognized his name....he is her next door neighbor! Her house is 2 or 3 short blocks from the skating rink that they are showing on the major news clips. We are soooo thankful!

So glad to hear your daughter is safe and house didn't suffer too much damage. You all stay safe - the storm damage has been bad. Have wondered all day about all the MOC family in that part of the country.

God Bless.

Carol, here is the link to our primary TV station. http://www.wsfa.com/Global/category....0&nav=menu33_3

I'll be glad to hear that Lisa (wifeofDano) is safe as she was right in the path of the storms and hasn't posted since they passed her way. I pray that she is okay, maybe just without power.

We've been close several times but thankfully have never had any injury. This is a massive storm area so I hope everyone plays it safe.
