We hope everyone is safe after the tornado hit your area. Are any of you without power?

That time of year again. Lots of strong winds and hail here and the sirens going off (40 miles south of the Red), but no significant damage.
We are on the southern end of "tornado alley", but our town has not had a major hit since '48. (knock on wood) There was one 2 yrs ago hit just about 5 miles from here in another small town that killed several people. So the threat is alway there.

Just got off the phone with our son. One touched down near him in the Bedford area, near Dallas. Thank goodness his home wasn't hit, but real sorry about the families that were hit.

We lucked out. The worst part of the storm went just to the west of our place and it was east of our farm so we really lucked out at both places. Unfortunately there were a lot of lives lost in southern Oklahoma. My heart goes out to them but the 13 year old girl holding her mothers hand just as teh storm hit just rips my heart out. She was found about 400 feet from their trailer with minor injuries. Her parents were both found deceased just next to the trailer.

The good news is the people of Ardmore are really helping the displaced families. They are doing a teriffic job. If you would like to read more you can check out www.ardmoreite.com or www.newsok.com for more information.
