2012 Fall Rally

It is almost the middle of June and still nothing in the rally area about this year's fall rally. Any word on wagon masters, need for volunteers, etc? Just curious, trying to plan our year.

Probably just waiting for someone to step up to the plate and be the Wagon Master to get things rolling.

We have been told several times that there will be fall rally. We called the fairgrounds and that time is still reserved for the MOC rally. There is still plenty of time to pull it together.

The delay is interfering with our travel and schedule and we may not be able to attend the full rally if there is one but all we need is a couple of days in the area.

We will be there official rally or not.We figure by that time we will need the services of the service center for our new Big Sky and the vendors and the plants are still there as well as the salvage places. IT only takes a bunch of MOC'es to make a rally.

We'll be there. Like you we have work to get done and already have appointments with lippert and Morryde so we will be there no matter what.

We will be there the Sunday that the rally starts. As usual, Terrie will stay and I will fly back to Texas for work. But, it would be nice to have some advance planning. I will be back on Friday evening, so I really only miss three days of the rally. Next year, I will be there for the full rally (2013), God willing.

We decided to go to the Mid Atlantic rally in S.C Aug 16th to Aug 21.It is a long road trip so the dates for us will be Aug 14th and wil probably hang around after the rally. The fall rally is now low priority as we can not wait around for confirmation. We may need a couple of days at the service center by then and will stay at the fairgrounds.

The MOC is still on the fairgrounds schedule for Sept 19 to Sept 26.

How much more confirmation do you need to be assured there will be a Fall Rally? The Admins have stated and re-stated the event will be held 9/19/- 9/26. The only reason for the Rally to not occur has been hinted at by several others. Should that occur one can only blame the members.

This needs to be explained to me. I really don't understand this comment.

I suspect CRAFT-Guy means that to have a rally you need someone to volunteer to run it

The administrators have stated nothing. With 90 days to the rally we are nowhere in organization. The dates for the next year rally are set at the rally itself. Those dates on the fairground schedule were set last year at the 2011 rally.Things like the sign up,folks to run the various events take time and co- ordination. Many folks plan their travel schedule well in advance. We have been to every fall rally Since we purchased our 06 Montana . We have co-ordinated a event at every rally since then. We have been Assistant wagon masters at one rally..Time has run out for us this year. We could no longer hold those dates open many MOC'ers we know have said the same thing.

There is still time. The rally almost runs on autopilot. It is a great event. Just need a lead person or two to step up. The rest will happen quickly.
Wish we could help out but it just can't happen this year. There are many past wagon masters, assistants and coordinators that would offer help and advise.

How about it......

The dates for the Rally are set long in advance of the current rally. The 2012 and 2013 dates are already public. The dates for 2014 through 2020 are also scheduled but not published. Confirmation that the rally is scheduled and planned to occur are in several posts by the Administrator(s). But I can't disagree with your observations about organizing.

P.S. for DQDick - 8.1al's suspicion is entirely correct.

Makes sense, but why are we just hearing about it at this late date? Most of us probably have no idea what's involved, how to start, what it takes to make it happen etc. We could have maybe learned it and pieced it together if we started this spring. At this late date it's going to take folks who've been there and done that with help from those who don't know what we are doing but want to see the event happen.

The rally dates have been set for several years into the future that is true. That time frame is a good time as it is between major Rv rallies and the Keystone/Montana folks as well as the vendors are available for the seminars, etc.

We will be happy to help and advise folks who will take on the major task.Much of the planning and co ordination is done by Keystone/Montana (vendors, seminars? and the administrator. One can look at the posting fot last years rally and see that the format is already there.
