Our house battery gave up today

Hello

Our house battery gave up today. It started venting gas and tripping the 12v converter breaker.

I removed the battery and used my heavy jumpers to my ½ ton truck and the converter works correctly.

I put the battery on my shop trickle charger and it did the same.

So now I want to put 2 6v Trojan golf cart batteries in place of the single 12v battery.

Does any one know where I can get battery boxes with the same vent system big enough for these batteries?

Thanks

Phil P

Phil,
When my converter boiled my battery I got a replacement one with the charge wizard. After I found the Q4 works the same with my old IOTA converter. If you do not have the charger monitor I suggest you add it to your list.
Others who have double six volts should be along with input.

Mine came as a single plastic box that both batteries fit into. The dealer sourced the box as it was part of the purchase. It's vented with a single hose just like the stock battery box. Sorry, I don't know where they got it.

Since we don't dry camp, when the 12v died, just replaced it with another like it...we do have a Q4 on the converter.

Phil P,

Try this location: http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/r...attery-box.htm

They have boxes for both end-to-end and side-by-side configuration.
