Did anyone have a Tredit bent aluminum tire rim?

Has anyone had a Tredit aluminum tire rim get bent? I had a new Maxxis tire put on one of the Monty's Tredit aluminum rims. The tire shop tried to balance the wheel, but couldn't because they said the rim was bent. I had them put the tire and rim back on the trailer and went down to Arizona and back. I now noticed that the tire has wear on the outer edge, so I'm wondering if this could be from the fact the rim may be bent. I've had the axels aligned prior to having the new tire installed. I'm wondering that if you had a bent rim was the tire wear on the out side edge?

Greatly appreciate your input.

Do you remember which wheel position? I have heard of this on a trailer especially with aluminum wheels and others wondered if it was because it was the right side on the trailer which is the most inclined to smack something on a turn (but my guess is that it would have to happen at a fast rate of speed). No other ideas came up other than running over something are a high rate of speed. Or maybe it was just a bad rim.

This would be another reason to make sure that the tire guys balance new tires on a wheel. They are pretty good at finding these kinds of things at that time. I have seen that too, but personally, I have never had a bent wheel of any kind. I bring this up because others have mentioned wheel balancing does not always occur with trailer tires. When will we learn?

If indeed you have a bent rim ... replace it ... otherwise you're just asking for trouble. Jack the wheel up and spin it ...

You can get a new one at a reasonable price by calling Tredit directly. Many of us have done that.

Dieselguy gives good advice on the diagnosis. However, before you replace it, there are companies that now straighten aluminum and steel wheels. Just another option offered that you may not be aware of.

I have a 2008 3400. When I changed over to G614's I was told to have them balanced with a lug-centric devise not center balance. Evidently the Chinese rims where way beyond perfect to balance from the center. When I did have them balanced I requested the lug-centric balance and sure enough they bought out that devise.

Didn't have a bent Tredit rim, but two years ago we did have 3 out of 4 of them crack. Tredit replaced all 4 for us and sent them overnight because we were standed 2000 miles from home. Great service.

Ditto on Tredit for service. We had a crack appear about six months after a Marathon blowout (we replaced all 5 tires with G614's). Called Tredit. Had a new wheel in 2 days for less than $120. They wanted to know if it was possibly a defect. I said absolutely NOT and I explained what happened and wanted to purchase a new wheel. I'd call them first to see what they suggest. For whatever it costs to straighten a bent wheel, for under $120 + mount and balance, you get brand new + piece of mind(gotta put a high value on that). Good luck on whatever you decide.
