Synthetic Wheel Bearing Grease?

Has anyone repacked their wheel bearings with synthetic grease? On the write-ups, it appears to withstand higher temperatures (300 as compared to 240) and heavy water without breaking down. About ready to get the Monty ready for a Yellowstone pull in a couple of months.

Good product, but need to do a super cleaning job getting rid of old grease, as different greases generally do not mix well.

I've been using Mobil 1. I agree with Mike, I break out the rubber gloves and clean with a gas wash. Punch out the rear seal wash and repack bearings. I have never used the grease zerk on the hub.

When I repacked the bearings the first time I changed to synthetic and have since put about 8,000 miles on the bearings with no problem whatsoever. Will be doing it again this summer and will use synthetic again.

Need to check the dropping temperature of the grease. Alko recommends 440 degree and Dexter recommend minimum of 419 degrees in their online manuals. The temperature is listed on the tube of grease. Sometimes it is hard to find the grease in stores.

Mobil #1, removed, completely cleaned, new seals, inspect brakes, grease and install, every 24 months, never had a bearing issue

Mobile 1 the same as RonD, and also did the same thing as him as far as cleaning well, and getting rid of old grease.

I think I'll just stop by Rons house next fall and let him take care of my bearings.
