I was wondering how many of you have had problems with or had to replace your grey water holding tank? I have a 2004 Big Sky, 3670 RL, purchased used and had to recently replace the grey water tank at a cost of about $900.00, including labor. Good Sam has agreed to try to help me recoupe some of that money from Keystone but I need documentation as to others who have had the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There have been a number of folks who have reported having tank problems of one sort or another but relatively few who had to actually replace the tank. If you haven't done a "search" you may want to try that.

Did you try going through your local Keystone dealer? Have you had any contact with Keystone?

I have a 2003 3575RL and had to replace the grey water tank. It was around $800+. I am not sure why GS is involved in trying to get some of your money back. Did I miss something?

I have a 2007 3400RL and had both my grey tanks replaced last spring. $50 total. Extended warranty deductible...

Ours was replaced within the first month. The tank had a crack near the drain. The dealer said that it had tl of
happen at the factory. Of course it was under warranty.

We just had our galley tank replaced on Monday. It was cracked near the outlet. We had it done at Fox RV near Goshen, so there was no shipping charges, they just went over to Keystone and picked up the tank at about 1PM and had it finished by 4PM, cost us about $600. I was really glad that we had it done near Goshen, because there were some complications in identifying the correct tank, but they were able to sort that out and still get the right tank installed within the same day. Our unit is an '05 3670RL.

We just had our greywater tank replaced after one year. Covered by extended warranty.

I replaced the front gray tank a few years back because it cracked at the outlet and had several pin holes.
Ordered from Star and replaced it myself for less than $150 and shipping was over half of that.

Our galley tank has 3 cracks. Patched and holding?

Replaced both grey tanks 2 months ago. The galley tank develped a hole where an angle iron was placed with the sharp side against the tank and a hole wore throw. The main grey tank had developed cracks. Cost about $800 with extended warranty providing tanks and about half of labor. Wouldn't cover any of the underbelly that had to be replaced because of water damage. Very disappointing as the the angle iron problem was a design flaw.

We have the same unit as you do. 04 3670RL Big Sky. The black has been replaced, the grey has been replaced, and the kitchen grey has been repaired. Hope that helps.

I've been fortunate that I have not had to replace any of the tanks. Knock on wood!!!

Had to repair a galley tank on a 3295RK. Also have a spare tank for same just in case I need one for some other trailer.

No problems with the two grey tanks afer 41 months and lots of travel... Black tank replaced after about 2 years due to what the dealer said was a manufacturer defect. Billed cost was 729.00. cost to me because of extended warranty 50.00/ Note execpt for drain points the black and grey tanks in the 06 3400 were identical

Repaired main grey tank with Eternabond tape this spring. So far - so good! Cracks near the outlet.

I am all but certain that it came that way from the factory. I have always winterized and made sure that I ran plenty of antifreeze through each of the holding tanks.

I have to wonder if it happens in handling/storing the tanks before they are installed.
Opinion: Could be that some means of support under them would help prevent the stressing that occurs when filled to the max.

Talked to a friend with a higher end (i.e. more expensive) SOB. He has also had to have two tanks replaced in spite of the fact that his manufacturer does install the support strapping. His both cracked at the outlet fitting, which is where mine cracked too. I'm thinking that perhaps some of these cracks might be caused by stresses between the tank and the drain piping. Strapping might help with avoiding cracks around the mounting flange at the top of the tank, but it is hard see how the strapping would have any effect on cracks around the outlet fitting at the bottom.

I had a leak on my grey tank on our 2005 2955, same location near the output fitting. Repaired with eternabond a-seal. Glad it wasn't the black tank.

Same leak at the outlet of my front grey tank on my 2005 2955 in '07. Sanded to roughen, epoxied with ABS compatible epoxy and two layers of eternabond. No Leaks in 2 1/2 years and 15,000 miles. If you have seen these tanks made you could see how the process can leave a weak spot especially in highly convoluted areas like the outlets.
