CB Radios?

How many people still have and use CB radios in their tow vehicles? I think they can still be of use.

Haven't had a CB in a long time now. Although we do have walkie Talkies that we use when with a group in Side By Sides out in the wild. The wife and I use our cell phones on hands free when driving in separate vehicles.

Nothing wrong with a CB and I think truckers still use them to some extent so you will get useful road information on occasion. Just keep in mind you may also get some less than nice words along with that. I wouldn't recommend having a CB on in a car with kids.

I stopped using them long ago. Not much traffic on them. You need to modify the radio with a linier(sp) to boost the power. Not sure you can find them anymore. I carry walki talkies but they are only good for backing in my unit but I never use them for that ether. Cellphones are good almost everywhere. If you call 911 you will get someone on the phone no matter what. If you travel with a buddy than car to car is walki talky's work fine.

Waze and google maps are both good for alerting you to traffic issues in your route. Put in your destination and they will give turn by turn directions and tell you if there is a traffic problem and suggest an alternate route with estimated times for each. And they will show pretty much the exact location of the problem (accident, construction, etc) so you can decide to go on thru, take the suggested detour, or pull over for a rest or meal until the problem clears. Something a CB does not provide.

Some GPS also provide the same info as above. Some, including Waze, will also show radar ahead but speeding while towing is generally not an issue.

Haven’t had a CB for many years but I know the language was often rough back then.

We have one, but rarely use it. If there is a slowdown on the freeway, we turn it on and sometimes find out what's going on.

I haven't used one in probably 30 years. When I was 'commuting' 300 miles on Monday and Friday, would turn it on but even then they were starting to fade away. Today - kinda useless unless you caravan with several others in your RVs.
