Would You Buy Montana Again

We are about ready to buy a 5er and have zeroed in on the Montana. My question for all of you out there would you buy a Monatana again? Value for the price, number of problems you have dealt with, quality, fit and finish. I'm sure the question has been asked before but there may be some fresh discussion.

In a Heart-beat. As a mechanic and mechanical guy, I think the problems we have are inherent in buying a product that is made the way they have do it to be competitive in the market. Many different makers use the same sub-contractors, and the same parts.

Well, I said no, then I thought about buying another one. But, with all three holding tanks leaking...no way. When you buy a tank, and the manufacturer tells you in no uncertain terms to support the tanks with straps, and you choose not too, that's a little too much for me. What else is not installed correctly? I know a lot of stuff that is not, but I don't have time too type it all.

Yes, we like our 3400 and would buy again. We also enjoy the MOC and the Rallies. I do wish that I had knoun everything I
have learned on the MOC before I bought, I would have bought from a different dealer.

Maybe...This is our 5th Rv and all have been different brands so past history would say..no. However. the Montana was when we purchased it the brand and floor plan that best met our needs and was what we comsidered the best buy for the buck.

having toured most of the RV plants in the Elkhart, Ind area these Rv's are IMO more alike than different so I see little chance of getting a better Rv in a different brand. I would still look for floorplan and price to determine brand.. If it is a Montana...so be it.

NO, I did not spend that kind of money for a "do it yourself" project.
I also do my own work BUT this is not how I want to spend my retirement!
Then you have the frame failures, axel problems, tires that fail.
Keystone could buy better!

Our signature below tells what I think. Our main concern has always been the availability of service, so when we selected both of our Montana's, even though we could have saved a couple thousand each time by shopping farther away, we relied both times on local dealers with reliable service departments. We are not full-timers nor long-timers so a local dealer is a primary part of our selection process. We have had some minor problems as I am sure there would have been with any manufacturers product, overall we are very happy with our choices and are very happy with the Montana line as a whole. Best of luck with your choice, whatever it may be.

Our 3475 was our first RV and we would definitely buy another Montana. I sure know alot more about looking over an RV but like others has said--most RVs in my price range are made the same way using the some components-axles, tanks, showers, frigs, water heaters, etc.. Manufactures just buy the components and assemble the floorplan. Lots more choices today than 5 years ago but Montana is still tops on my list.

We've had many RVs in the past and took a lot time before the purchase. We purcased a new unit and our Monty has taken a lot of our time and frustration to get it to a reliable state to where we feel comfortable travelling and living in it. I have a hard time believing that some of the electrical, mechanical and structural components leave the factory without a reputable quality control/improvement program. One small example was when I pulled the wall in the basement to access the water pump I came across a rats-nest of electrical wires both 12 and 120 volt, some wires were cut and then reconnected with twisted connectors!!
We love the plan and will stay with that plan. We have at this point looked at anothe Montana and other manufactures with the same plan and features. To conclude; one must realize that all RVs need meet only minumum codes, so quality ranks low on the priority list. I am glad we still live in a country where we have choice, plus the fact is: if the RV manufacture had to meet codes similar to the automotive sector, the end cost would be excessive. IMHO

We like our Montana. We comparison shopped for 2 years before we settled on ours. As has been said, many manufacturers use the same components. In the end, it was fit and finish as well as floor plan that was the deciding factor. We've only had ours for one camping season (less than a year) so I really can't speak to long term ownership. Would we buy another? Probably. Ask me again in 3 years.

Sure would, best all around 5th wheel around.

If you get one, be sure you get enough truck. Any diesel can "pull it fine" but it needs to be able to handle the pin weight.

Probably not. The fit and finish is not what our 2001 Montana was, and we have had too many problems in the first year for my satisfaction. I will notv be buying another RV of any type in the future. mzny of you replace your trailers within 3 or 4 years because of new features and can afford to do so. I can't and won't. As many have said the quality is not there and will not improve in the future, so I will stay with my new 2010 until I have had my fill of RV'ing and sell it. At a substantial lose I'm sure. We enjoy RV'ing and the people we meet, but not happy with the RV industry.

Done did. First one was a 2003 2955RL. Current one is a 2008 3075RL. We enjoyed both of them and will be taking the 3075 to "Q" this Tuesday.

At this point,Yes we would buy it again. We've had our 2010 3665RE less than a year, but it has been a great home away from home. Yes, there have been a few little problems, but having a good reliable dealer makes the difference. For the number of Montanas out there,I haven't heard many complaints.

Yes we would buy another Montana. We have been looking around and like the floor plan and price of the Montana's. At one time we thought that we would look at another model but the 3400RL is still what we like the best.
Hope the market improves soon because many dealerships will not even consider trading in, too many rv's on their lots. Matter of fact, the dealership that we bought our 2005 from suggested that we wait until the spring and see what her inventory is like then. Didn't even want to make us an offer because it would be insulting too us. Too many used large 5th wheels on her lot.
We are not disappointed, will just keep on traveling with our 2005.

More than likely we will buy another Montana. We are on our third one so far. 2001 3295RK, 2005 3400RL and 2010 the present one. Have had some minor problems, but dealer and keystone normally comes through.
