Alpine

Hi all , I was just wondering where the new Alpine fell into the line up ? Higher end than Montana , but lower than Big Sky? I know some of you are more up to speed on this new model , so I thought i would ask. In any event it looks nice. Have a great day...Scott

Would really need a shoe horn to slide another model between the Big Sky and the Montana.

Thus far I do not "get the Alpine.... The Alpine 3500 has a gvwr of 15,915 which is heavier than any regular Montana. My rule of thumb was always that if a comparable unit was heavier it must have better construction and materials??? At 15,915 it is over the tow rating of my big truck with the 4:10 diff as are some of the Montana's... I really don't get that. My only thought is that maybe the Big Sky is not selling well and this is the replacement???

The big Sky and the alpine are to close together and they are also to heavy for most 1 ton trucks..... I just, even with the Ford Employee discount can not afford a 450 truck.

I am really confused....

I think if I remember correctly our Cambridge 358 and the Chevy 2007 Chevy DRW's 4x4 weight was 25,600 lbs. I know for sure it was heavy. But it had a on board Generator (Onan) and a huge basement. It was very well built. It had 7,000 axles and Goodyear G-614's I always thought it should have had 8,000 axles? If the Alpine is built any place close to the Cambridge it will be heavy and a great 5th wheel. I do like the floor plan, I do question why they aren't using G-rated tires. Just for everyones Info. My Chevys weight was 8,560 lbs which made the Cambridge weight 17,040 . The weight will sneak up on you???

Many folks do not believe how much heaver the Ford is than the Chevy.. Your similar chevy at 8560 lbs and my Ford at 9250lbs..a 690lb difference. I sure would like to have that 690lbs back...
