Help with dual zone A/C thermostat

I'm out in my rig right now and cannot get the bedroom A/C to respond to the Duo Therm thermostat setting. I can turn it on and off via the thermostat, but no matter how high the set point is set on zone 2, it will not shut off.

The bedroom is like ice right now and I have zone 2 set for 88 degrees!

btw, i have already confirmed the zones are not mixed up, as zone 1 shuts the living room a/c off just fine.

Any solutions?? The manual offers no help. I just had the BR A/C installed, so I suspect they screwed something up!

Butch,
I' assuming you have the Comfort Control Center control. If you don't this will not help but if you do, take a look at the manual on this link: Comfort Control Center Manual page 15 and verify the dip switches. Just a thought....I hope this helps.

Thanks Jack. I tried the dip switches - no effect. I get the feeling the remote sensor (in the bedroom) for the thermostat is not talking to the CCC in the living room. It does have a wire running to it behind the BR TV, but beyond that, I have no idea what to do next.

Obviously I'll get it into the dealer eventually, but it costs 60 bucks in gas every time I have to take this in and go back and get it. With summer camping already here, I also would miss a trip or two to have it sitting there.

Sorry it wasn't an easy fix but keep us posted on what you find out. On the bright side, I guess you could hang a side of beef in the bedroom and have plenty of fresh meat for the summer camping season

Yep. Given the alternative of NO A/C in the summer, this is not a huge issue - just an irritant. I'll just use the BR A/C to help cool of the rig when we arrive and at times during the heat of the day.

Thanks again - I've saved the link for future breakdowns, I mean reference...

Butch,
One other thing I thought of was to perform a reset of the thermostat. Have you tried that yet? Just throwing it out there.

Jack,

Thanks. I did try that a couple of times. No luck.

I called my dealer yesterday and the tech has given me directions on which wire to disconnect from the front unit to disable the front (Zone 2) thermostat sensor. Supposedly this will cause it to revert to working off the Zone 1 temp setting. I have not tried it yet, but if it works, that will suffice until we can get it in at a more convenient time.

Thanks for the follow up. I'll post if it works.

FWIW, I have an '09 3400RL and my Zone 1 is the bedroom A/C. There also seems to be an excessive lag time between the time I change the thermostat setting to the time the unit reacts.
