Step height not comfortable for us

Our Mountaineer entry steps are 9 & 10 inches apart which are not comfortable for us to clime. I questioned the salesman when purchasing the unit about changing them to a four step set and said others had asked and checked into it and it could not be done. Is there something available to fix this problem?

Our steps are 7" apart (3 steps). I suppose you do not have a step inside the unit? We had a terrible time getting use to the inside step, but I can see uneven steps causing a terrible problem too.

Several units are made that way, with uneven stairs, for me, that is a deal killer. Sad, but that is the way it is.

I have tripped up the stairs on units like that any number of times, friends of ours have one.

Hope someone comes along that has changed to a 4 stair and can tell us how it is working out for them.

Know that for a number of MOC members, it is NOT a problem. One of those things, I guess that is comfort zone and personal preference.

I would also like to see a smaller gap between stairs and have it a 4 step.

Recently while meeting up with John Kohl, he showed me a platform step that holds 300 pounds (good enough for me) and it is two positions, 3 inches and 6 inches (I think 6). There have been a couple times when I had to level on street side and that raises the stairs a couple inches. I pickd one up at CW for about $90 and am a happy camper. Don't fall on my kiester stepping of the last step.

I noticed a big difference on our friends new 3485 with the level floor. We both have 3 steps, but his is truly a hike to get up.

There is 9" between steps on our 3485 but Lorraine nor I have had a problem. Being a side aisle model it does not have the inside step which we had in the 2955. I always hated that inside step.
Anyway, I am 6' tall but Lorraine is only 5' and she sees no problem at all with the 9" step.
No neither one of us have ever fallen or tripped on these steps.
