Savings cards

Those of you that move around alot, out of curiosity how many of the supermarket savings cards do you have?
Since we started traveling this spring we have found that nearly every grocery and drug store has a "savings card" of some sort that if you don't have it costs considerably more to buy you groceries. Only takes a couple of minutes to fill out and I am retired so I have the time. Never include my email just to keep the junk down
We decided to start keeping them just to see how many we collect. So far we have 11, this does not count the ones we got rid of at first because we figured we would no longer be using them. Would have 3-4 more.

Over a hundred! We hole punched them and put them on a huge key ring. Kinda fun when you go into the supermarket and when they ask for their card you bring out the ring of cards!

Because we have mostly stayed on the west coast we only have about 5. Vons is Safeway so you don't need both and then you have to have the wierd ones. But yes they don't take that long to fill out and usually save enought to make it worth the trouble. We keep ours in a file in the backpocket of the truck seat. Always have them on hand that way. Also have learned to keep my GoodSam card ther too. You can not get to the desk of the 3400 with the slides in...Trial by error on that mistake.

We have them for every chain store we come upon and a number for the more local stores where we do an extended stay or plan to return.
We also have some for a few department stores. Especially so for those located in Florida. Even have one for ACE Hardware. Like they say "Don't leave home with out it".
BTW-If an email is required just make one up ie.. dummy?@notme.com

We get one each time we go to a different grocery store. The small amount of time is more than made up for with the savings, in most cases.

I have zero.

I'm a noncomformest and refuse to surrender my personal purchasing practices to a marketing research company so I can get their discount. I don't think anybody needs to know what brand orange juice I buy, when I buy it, how much I buy, and how much I'm willing to pay before I change brands.

My DW carries one grocery store card that was obtained with false information. Every once in a while it get rejected, and she fills out a new form.

I like your email response Glenn.

Got to thinking again, yea, I know bad idea.

But, it seems to me that some of the stores that offer (?) this service (?) have also given us the discount with out the card.

Clerk, "Do you have our card"

Al, "No, I don't live around here."

Clerk, "No problem, I can give you the discount off my employee card."

and, they do.

YES they will but not always. I went into our local supermarket in Florida. Lorraine had the card with her I did not and the clerk did not give me the discount. It depends on the clerk and on store policy.

Brad, I'm glad you liked my phony email addy. The stores rarely ever check it for authenticity. I once used noneofyour@business.com and they never noticed it and that card is still good to this day. You really should reconsider, especially considering how many gallons of fuel this savings adds up to. In this day and age every penny counts and what do I care who knows what I buy.

We also keep ours in a business card folder along with GS, Camping Cards, AAA etc so they are readily handy. Except when I am doing something at night that needs a number off one of them and it is raining and the truck is no where close to the awning ... well you know how that goes.
Most of the places have been good about getting and using the cards even offering to use their employee card when needed except when we were in the NJ, NY area. They didn't ask if you had a card and if you didn't present it before they started ringing it up you got charged the higher price. Saw it happen to the lady in front of us so I had a heads up. That lady last I saw was getting a refund from the manager for her entire purchase and vowing never to shop there again....
Seems like we should have a use for the ones we are not presently using... maybe bookmarks or something..
