Axle replacement
Had need for inspection/alignment of my Montana. Had been experiencing excessive inside tire wear on Goodyear Marathons. Was referred by a former Montana owner to a shop in Visalia CA called Gross & Stevens. The service was superior. Ended up needing a new rear axle. They accomplished the task in a thorough, professional manner. Prior to final install, they checked the new Lippert axle and found it not true to their standard, sent a driver an hour up the road for a replacement. Price for the whole job was far below what I would have expected and below estimate provided. In/out the same day.
I highly recommend this shop. They provided the best service I have encountered anywhere lately. There phone # is 559/734 4649. John McMahan is a co-owner.

Thanks for posting...I think we should all give recognition to those few businesses who actually provide the public with good service. Sadly, we do not see a lot of that these days...or at least I do not see it.

thanks for the good information.
Wouldn't it be a great idea to have a list available on the MOC home page, of all repair shops with outstanding service, as you received for a referance guide by state listing. for all members to use while on the road.

Excellent idea! When you're away from your local area, you have no idea what shop to use.

rorehfeld... What do you think caused the mis-alignment? One of my buds went out west last year and ran over a small statue at the end of a curb in some small Montana town in his Jayco and had to get his axle replaced. Destroyed the statue.... he said the 5ver jumped about 3 feet in the air.

I know there's a thread about dealers but I don't remember seeing one about non-dealer repair shops. Good idea.
