More on Fireplace Remote

A while back I ask who had the remote for their factory installed fireplace. Since then I looked up on the main MOC site, OEM's and it indicated Dimplex was the manufacturer. I got the model number from the owners book, which does not indicate in any way who the manufacturer is, and sent Dimplex an inquiry as to where to buy a remote control. Here is their exact response:

The following is a response to the question you asked Dimplex on November 19, 2010 at 4:34 PM EST

Answer:
Good morning Mr.Schraml,

The model nbr that you have quoted is not a Dimplex product. If your unit is indeed a Dimplex it will bear the name Optiflame, Electraflame or Dimplex on the front. Our unit does not come equipped with a remote control. Please investigate.

Thank you,
Cheryl Harmer

Question:
I have Model BL9-999A-2. It came installed in my 2010 Montana RV.
The fireplace manual references a remote control. No remote control
was provided. Can you tell me which one I need and how to buy it.

Does your book say Dimplex on the front? We have a 2009 3605RL model and ours has the remote. Maybe the number you sent them was not the right number. Pull the unit out far enough to get the serial number off the unit. That's what we had to have when we called Dimplex with problems. They were very nice and sent us the parts we needed and someone to fix it.
They're customer service number is in the Dimplex little manual that came with your fireplace/rig.

Hope this helps.

Judy, thanks, but like I said, the Dimplex name is no where on the fireplace manual. The number I gave them is the model on the fireplace tag. Again without the Dimplex name. I suspect Montana substituted another manufacturer for Dimplex.

Greetings! I purchased my 2009 Montana with the Dimplex BF8000ST installed. It came with a remote. On another topic though, it seems as the fan in it is going bad. Has anyone had experience in changing the fan and where did you purchase it?
Thanks, Ron

Ron,
If I were you, I would probably contact Dimplex, I believe these units have a two year warranty and it would be of benefit to check to see if yours is still under warranty.

When they sent me the replacement bottom piece, they also sent us a new fan/motor. And sent someone out to chanage it out.

However, just last week, we got a small package from them with new wires in it. Don't know why or howcome. They just arrived. Since it is now working great, guess we'll just hold on to them until something burns out.

On my early 2009 model I was told the fireplace no longer used remotes. Guess they changed to a different model sometime. Mine is a Dimplex also. The heating eliment went out after 6 months and they sent a service tech out to replace it. Seems like a good company to me.
